FLAM.ME.UM – A Journey to the Essence of Human Identity
In FLAM.ME.UM, Nunzio Impellizzeri develops a powerful artistic concept that explores the essence of human identity in the digital age. The focus is on the unique beauty of the body and its unparalleled presence. In a world characterized by dynamism and homogenization, Impellizzeri invites us to reflect on the uniqueness of each individual, question societal conventions, and celebrate inner authenticity.
Through the symbolic use of the veil Flammeum from ancient Rome and the orange, a dialogue between the visible and the invisible is created. The veil stands for protection and mystery, marking the boundary between the hidden and the visible. The orange, with its radiant color exuding vitality, becomes a powerful symbol of human identity: the outer shell protects and preserves, while the inner white layer separates and envelops the rich and juicy essence at its core.
FLAM.ME.UM is an experience that challenges conventions and invites us to look behind the masks we wear daily – both in the physical and digital world. In a time when identities are often filtered to meet external standards, the performance explores the significance of confronting one's own truth without illusions. Every movement and symbol encourages us to consider how society, technology, and collective expectations influence our perception of ourselves and others. True strength and beauty lie in claiming the right to be oneself – without fear of being different or questioning conformity.
